ArrayComm was incorporated in April 1992 and co-founded by wireless industry pioneer Martin Cooper. The privately-held company is based in San Jose, California, USA, and is led by a strong team of distinguished wireless technology and telecommunications executives. The company is widely acknowledged as the world leader in commercializing multi-antenna signal processing (MAS) software for wireless communications systems (a technology often referred to as "smart antennas" or "MIMO" — see note below). ArrayComm's business has been built on a series of implementations of its A‑MAS™ software for industry standards including WiMAX, GSM, PHS, and HC-SDMA. As cellular usage continues to rise and as wireless operators' strategies evolve to include bandwidth-hungry multimedia applications and broadband Internet access, ArrayComm is seeing strong growth in demand for its technology in infrastructure and subscriber device markets for a wide variety of wireless systems.
ArrayComm's A‑MAS software improves wireless network economics and subscriber experiences through gains in coverage, client data rates, and capacity. Well-proven through extensive commercial operation, A‑MAS can yield 2x coverage, 2x client data rates, and 4x or higher improvements in capacity over conventional systems.
ArrayComm licenses its unique MAS software and related system architecture expertise to manufacturers who incorporate it into wireless network devices and systems sold to operators. Customers also tap ArrayComm's technology and market expertise through engineering services and other collaboration agreements that enable their rapid and successful adoption and commercialization of MAS-enabled products. ArrayComm's software is currently deployed in more than 300,000 base stations worldwide serving more than 40 million subscribers in Australia, South Africa, China, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, and the Middle East.
ArrayComm is a member of the Ygomi Group of companies.
Note: There is a lot of confusion in the industry today about multi-antenna architectures and processing modes. Commonly-used terms such as smart antennas, MIMO, adaptive antennas, or beamforming mean many different things to different people. We prefer to use the more general term multi-antenna signal processing (MAS) to refer to the software category in which we work, because what we do includes all architectures and processing modes, including several exclusive to ArrayComm.
